How will you mark National Work Life Week?
National Work Life Week is coming to City workplaces from 2 to 6 October 2017. How will parents and carers in your workplace be marking the week?
National Work Life Week is fast approaching and working parents and carers in the City, as well as across the UK, are making plans to celebrate the week.
National Work Life Week is an annual campaign run by Working Families, the UK’s work life balance charity and its aim is to highlight the importance of wellbeing at work and work life fit for all employees.
Working Families is keen to hear how City employees are planning to celebrate the week. Ideas for getting involved include:
- Highlight some great examples of colleagues at all levels of seniority who are working flexibly. Why not put an article on your intranet or internal newsletter to inspire other parents and carers?
- Put on a special event for colleagues - a lunchtime session to share top tips on balancing home and work or on mindfulness and resilience.
- Bring in fresh fruit, go for a group walk at lunchtime, arrange free head massages - employees are tweeting @WorkingFamUK about a wide range of things they are planning to mark the week.
National Work Life Week is an opportunity to show how City organisations and their employees are doing things differently, helping to create work that works for all.
For examples of how organisations took part last year, take a look at how Public Health England and Sky marked the week with a range of activities for their colleagues.
Working Families would really like to hear about what is happening at your workplace and to share news of your plans. If you are planning to mark the event, please do tag @WorkingFamUK with #worklifeweek or fill out a short form with details of your week.
